On behalf of Principal George Harris and the entire Avis Huff Independence Academy staff, we are proud to welcome you to a school built on purpose, passion, and possibility.

Avis Huff is not a typical school—and we don’t aim to be. We are an alternative learning community where students are given the space and support to rewrite their stories. Our mission is clear: to redirect, refocus, and restore confidence in every learner. We teach students how to set meaningful goals, solve problems peacefully, and rise above conflict—not with fists, but with focus, resilience, and respect.

We believe academic success is just one part of the journey. Our staff is deeply committed to helping students grow emotionally, socially, and intellectually. We reach out to families, build strong relationships, and create a circle of support that surrounds each student with care and accountability.
